AUDITIONS

October 1, 3:00pm & October 3, 6:00pm

Woodland Park Presbyterian Church

Elegies for Angels, Punks, and Raging Queens is a unique weaving together of Poetry, Song, and Theatre that reminds us that life is special, relationships are special, and we continue to fight an ongoing HIV/AIDS pandemic that rips lives and relationships apart.

The recently revised script allows for as many as 50 performers or as few as a handful to bring together the memories of those we have lost, the stories of those who survive, and the songs of those who mourn.

As such, there aren't the traditional roles that you might audition for. Instead there is a sequence of poems and songs that are shaped by performers who are in it.

If you are interested, consider yourself cast, these auditions are simply to help us to know how the story will best be explored through the storytellers we have.

The folder below contains 12 poems from the script. You are invited to prepare 2 of them, whichever 2 you feel most drawn to. No need to memorize them, but feel comfortable with them. We will ask you to present them to the group.

Singers will be invited to stay after that to learn a song as a group, and that will be it.

Please be prepared to let us know any conflicts you have between now and December 3. Time commitment will be minimal, and we will do our best to build a schedule for you that avoids your conflicts.
